I am in a “Fabric Happy” state of mind! I plan to create two 16″ x 20″ wall hangings. One will have a blue/brown color theme. The other will have a green/gold color theme. Below shows the Heat ‘n Bond adhesive on the back of a retro blue cotton fabric. Then, all the fabrics with the fusible adhesive applied on the backs.

Now with all the fabric spread out on the table, I cut them into 2″ squares with rotary cutter. I also cut 1″ x 2″ rectangles using the rotary cutter.

Next, I start positioning them onto the muslin backing fabric. Next, I iron down the fabrics while pinning the tweed fabrics. I’m planning of doing an overstock trim stitch around the tweed fabrics. Then, I applique them onto the background.

My 2nd wall hanging will have the green/gold color theme. I incorporated the green and gold fabrics. In this case, the tweed fabrics in tan and the brown to add accents throughout. I position the fabrics first and then iron them down to make them stick to the muslin back

I love how the finished green/gold one looks at this point. My Afrikana Play fabric looks great as a highlight fabric. The rest of the fabrics coordinate well from this one. Once I sew on these wall hangings, I’ll share those pictures.
